If you reside in Navenby and have no alternative way (including public transport and relatives) to get to an appointment, our volunteer drivers are here to help. You can use the service for all types of medical appointment or to visit next-of-kin in hospital or a nursing home. For a hospital visit you should first check if you are eligible for ambulance transport and you must be able to get in and out of a car unaided. The scheme has Public Liability Insurance provided by the County Council and fares are subsidised by Navenby Parish Council. You will be asked to pay any parking fees required but this service is exempt from parking fees at Lincolnshire NHS trust hospitals. All drivers are volunteers, are CRB ckecked and cannot accept tips but do not have lifting and handling or first aid training. For more information or to book a trip please call the Village Office at 01522 811 132 to give details of your journey and leave your address and a contact telephone number. The answering machine will take your call if the office is closed. Where possible, we need a week's notice of your journey to give time to organise a driver. The coordinator will call you in a day or two.
